CZ = quality firearms! |
|
CZ (Ceska zbrojovka) was founded in Czechoslovakia in 1936, and has gained a reputation for making some of the finest firearms available, at reasonable prices. I own a CZ75BD and it is the most accurate handgun of the nine that I currently own. Only my Rossi 972 revolver with 6-inch barrel comes close, of those in my gunsafe. I have almost 800 rounds thru my CZ75BD with no malfunctions and no problems of any kind. I love this gun!
See our main page for more CZ resources.

Well I guess I will find out if the old stuff was quality, since I have a CZ52 on it's way to me.

But I do know they did not wreck Dan Wesson when they bought it.

I have owned three CZ's: CZ75BD 9mm, CZ82 9x18Mak and CZ70 .32ACP.
I have since sold them all except the CZ75BD, but never had a problem with any of them. The only reason I sold the CZ82 was because of the limited selection and availability of 9x18Mak ammo, and because I really didn't need a 32ACP pistol - not a large enough round for SD, but not cheap ammo for the range, either.
Be sure to give us a range report on the CZ52. I know they are known for heavy penetration!

Hate to say it, but I find the accuracy very disappointing. Was all over the target. Wondering if it needs a new barrel?
Of course it may not have helped that before I went to the pistol range, I fired 101 rounds of 8X56R and 75 rounds of 7.62X54R at the rifle range. Man is my shoulder sore.

Sorry to hear that! I agree about the sore shoulder. I know that when I take more than two or three guns to the range, my accuracy usually gets worse and worse as the day progresses, as I become more tired and less 'fresh'.
I think you're right, you should try it again when this is giong to be the first gun you shoot that day.

The only thing is, I was also firing my FN Hi-Power 9mm, and wasn't shooting it too bad. Not great, but not bad.

There's always an exception to the rule, but in most cases, the more familiar I become to a firearm, the more 'used to it' - the better accuracy I can get out of it.
The first time I took my Riger SR9 to the range, I was sure it needed the sights adjusted, but I wanted to wait a few range trips before doing it, just to make sure I was consistent. Every range trip I got better and better with it, until I realized I just needed to get used to it and it was shooting dead-on with no adjustment!

I bet your reloads will be MUCH more accurate...!
Let us know when you get time to try them out.

DOH! Had a brain fart and ordered wrong sized bullets. It is OK, because I can use them ones to load my M1895 Nagant. But means I had to order the right sized ones. And it will be at least Monday before I can get to the range.
Also the black plastic grips were kind of chewed up, so I ordered some online from somebody who casts his own in any color you want. I thought I would try some dark blue ones to go with the finish on the CZ itself. Might look pretty snazzy.
