2075 or 2075P RAMI |
|
While waiting to see if Ruger is going to come out with a Compact SR9, I have been seriously considering the purchase of a CZ 2075 RAMI. I have viewed th CZ-USA website but cannot distinguish the difference in the 2075 and the 2075P, other than .1lb in weight and $557.00 versus $611.00 in price. They both handle the 9mm Luger and .40S&W right? And they both appear to have 1 10RD & 1 14 RD MAG. I assume it's the black polycoat vs. the polymer frame. I'm afraid I'm ignorant on this last subject and would appreiciate some enlightment on their differences. Also would welcome any pro/con feedback on the 2075 itself.
Thanks-

Welcome to yourweapons.com, Oysterman!
I don't own a CZ2075, but I consider my CZ75BD a world class weapon. You're right about the 2075P model, it is the polymer frame version and the 2075 is the polycoat. If there is only two ounces or so difference in the weight, I would much rather have the polycoat. I own a few polymer framed 9mm handguns and they are rugged and reliable, but the 2075 looks so much better to me than the 2075P - of course I don't buy handguns to look at them, but the aesthetics are pretty significant to me between these two models. Also the polycoat frame of my CZ75BD has held up extremely well. Over 1000 rounds and still looks brand new!
Good luck on your decision! We'll be looking forward to a range report.

Thanks for the info, polycoat it shall be. I don't plan to sell or trade the guns I buy so they're all "keepers" to me and I do prefer them to be aesthetically pleasing. And more importantly, if the polycoat holds up better then that's what I want.
Since Ruger passed on a compact SR9 (although I will get the LCP .380 when available), I've narrowed my next purchase down to 3: the Rami, the SR9 Black Stainless or the Bersa UC9. I know there's a wide price point between the 3 and hopefully my decision will be made easier at a gun show March 9th. If not, then will order from Buds.

Did you decide and make a purchase yet? How about a range report?
I'm not sure that Ruger has 'passed on a compact SR9'. I think it may just be a little further down the road.

Ended up getting the UC9. It was available and the price was right. Details posted in the Bersa UC9 forum.
While at the gun show I did handle a CZ75D PCR and I'm pretty sure this will be my "Stimulus Package" purchase. I have yet to fondle the Rami but in researching it and after further review I'm not sure I'd like the grip (I have large hands). With the PCR I had one of those "know it when I feel it moments". Plus I like the decocker feature. $481.00 from Bud's best price I've found ($599 locally).

Congratulations on getting the UC9! I love mine. It is my primary carry weapon again, now that my SR9 is waiting in the gunsafe for a pre-paid mailer from Ruger due to the 'not drop safe' issue...
Glad you are having good results with yours, too.
